Threads in Velocity forum

I opened a thread in the Velocity forums regarding the new Platinum status. Unfortunately markis10 decided to merge that into the general announcement thread. Obviously I disagree with that, as it's clear that Platinum deserves a thread of its own.

However, that being said, there are now FIVE threads started by the official Velocity Rep. Several of them are little more than advertorials for the new products. None of them has been merged into the general announcement thread.

So I guess my question is, what's going on over there? Doesn't that seem a bit odd?

As indicated in my response in the thread, there is already significant discussion on the benefits of Platinum in the main changes thread, so at this stage there is no need to a separate thread on Platinum, given we dont have one for Gold or Silver.

I try to stay clear of site discussion, but this is good - much better to merge threads than to close them, and happy for mods to exercise their discretion in how to do such merging.

Yeah, as I said in that thread, where the subject matter is the same, sure. But not for all of the separate 'enhancements' a la QF's threads. You may as well merge the whole site into one thread while you're at it.

Each of the Virgin Threads are on new changes to the program that are in different areas and often are applicable to various levels of members, so the discussion track will be different for each one, and will contain important tips from members who have experienced the benefits, for instance whats better, Hilton or Priority club etc etc.

Sorry markis10, but you're not being consistent. If each of the threads are on new changes to the program, then there should also be a thread on Platinum. Seeing as that's one of the biggest changes. And it would be nice to discuss all the ins and outs of the program (since there appear to be a lot) without the other noise.

The reason there's no thread on Gold and Silver is because they have been around for ages. I'm sure if we looked back there have been several.

Although the threads started by the Velocity rep are essentially adverts, I reckon that anyone with specific queries on each of the matters raised are better likely to have quick, personalised responses from an official Velocity rep because of them. So that makes them a pretty good benefit to AFF members IMHO.

It's a shame, really. I for one (and several other posters I have spoken with) would like to discuss and dissect the intricacies of the Platinum status in its own thread.

Shame that a mod with a childish personal grudge is preventing us from sharing that info. (Though funny to see the new threads popping up that aren't "merged"...)

Oh well. You can close this thread now. No need to tilt at windmills.
