Ah the 12 seater seaplane where they put your luggage in one of the floats. Love it.

There are a number of car parks but you want the immediate first one on entry, it's free and doesn't lock at night. The other two (pay for parking) lock at certain times and depending on sunset, your car is trapped until 8am next day. 10pm (8pm in winter) sounds good but we were there until 10.20. It's about a 800mtr walk.

I also read that colours change every half hour but they actually change every minute.

Thanks to your info we parked in the first car park at the Kelpies just before 22:30 last night. It was after sunset, but still quite light. The horseheads were lit up purple and were still purple after half an hour! Mrs jxv spotted a security guard and asked what was going on. It happened to be Cystic Fibrosis Day and purple is their colour, so that was locked in for the night.

We are going to try again tonight. Lucky that we are staying at Airth Castle Hotel, only 12 minutes away!

'Holy Ghost' orchid (Peresteria elata) , with dove! (OK, it looks more like a duck to me, but lets go with the flow here...)

And as drron seems to be muscling in on my rock photo franchise in his current TR, I shall be having an extensive review of the orchid house at the Sri Lanka National Botanical gardens once my own TR catches up. ;)

And a blessed sundowner G&T. My abode in Galle for 2 nights is pretty swanky, but doesn't have a liquor licence, so I BYO. Which, although a bit clunky ( you bring it to the bar and they mix and serve it) , it's a damn sight cheaper than if they did sell it. A watermelon juice earlier was A$5

Several times now I made a resolution to write a TR, but every time I did not get to it. It may be easier to occasionally post here instead.

So here is the view from the office this afternoon.518153F6-EB98-426A-B906-51D006E27C5E.jpeg

The National Wallace Monument near Stirling, Scotland. In the view photo, on the right hand side just over the river is where the Scots, lead by William Wallace defeated the English in 1297.
