The view from my "office"

It's quite interesting how things vary between towns in regards to tourist attractions. In Ravenna not only do you have to buy a ticket but you also have to book a slot. People that didn't plan ahead well enough have missed out, based on the facial reactions I've seen and raised voices. In San Marino though it was all good and just buy and enter.
Ravenna is fabulous. Do go here for lunch or dinner! Then the Dante museum!

Mosaics in Ravenna, very intricate and must have been much harder than simply painting the roofs with murals etc., not to take anything away from those artists too of course ;)

I didn't really enjoy Ravenna as much in general, I wonder though if it's because it felt busier through virtue of having to actually line up for tickets (which would be common normally this time of year anyway being peak season in a popular place) and then having to book slots to view the attractions, meaning we had to fit one in the next morning before we left. The town had a bit of charm, but didn't 'wow' us.

Mosaics everywhere you look.....!

And, AND, we are forbidden to leave the country! That’s what enlightened Federal Tory governments do for you.

Tory? Pah! You might have missed the re-education program. I have long since dubbed my own state (Lib govt) the DPR Tasmania and the Oz has called it the Socialist Republic of Tasmania. Lay down your weapons! You've won! :)

They've been talking about a resurgence of wine windows in Italy since COVID-19... Is this the milk window?

Ahh.. but has it had the hammer treatment by the inspector?
I have to admit that I did not have a clue what the "hammer treatment" was before I looked it up. So I have now learned something else to stick away in my ageing little grey cells. My packet is marked as having received the "Autorizzazione Consorzio Parmigiano Reggiano" so I assume that it would have had to pass the hammering test by them.
