Gin tasting in Adelaide today. I’m off for a nap shortly . And the winner was the Seppeltsfield dry

I should report this post as being cruel ... to me. I'm drooling from a dry province! :( o_O

...and I'm not talking about the weather!

If I must but my head is feeling a little fatigued at the moment. I think I need to walk to the shop and get a big steak for dinner to soak up some of the alcohol. I'll report back

Thanks for posting this. Back in 1980 I flew into Wynyard and even though I was a novice flyer back then, I was absolutely captivated by the stunning coastline views. I assume that must have been Table Cape??
I’d say so. Depending on direction of landing, you’d get a glimpse of The Nut at Stanley, down the coast and the Capes, and beaches. Given proximity to airport, Table Cape views always good.

In the other direction you’d get a view from Burnie west to Wynyard. I actually recall some flights many years ago (maybe East West?) that would fly MEL-DPO-BWT, so if you stayed on the final leg you’d get a 15 minute scenic coastal flight from Devonport to Wynyard!

Still must have been just about first in the gate and then a sprint to beat the horde that lines up before opening?
There are two gates (maybe three) that open at the same time, we were among the first 20 at our gate. I think we had an experienced guide that took us to the right viewpoints at the right time

I have already fallen nearly a week behind... I will cast my mind back to Svalbard.

There are not many reports of polar bears coming close to Longyearbyen, but the danger is real. Every guide on an out-of-town activity carries a gun. Even people walking the dog on the outskirts.

The shops in town, especially the bank, are not happy for people to bring their guns inside.

IN Toledo today. We walked up from the train station across this bridge the Puente de Alcantra a Roman arch bridge , which has been rebuilt and modified over the Centuries.

We walked through Toledo to this 14th Century one Puente de San Martin

We spent over 8 hours walking around Toledo, luckily the roads are smooth, wide and flat. (This actually is one of the wider streets.)
