They were probably practising with the C17 on thursday last week.It took off as we approached Amberly then further west it made 2 very low passes over us.Quite spectacular up close.

Coles Bay, looking towards Freycinet National Park (Wineglass Bay is just on the other side of the saddle on the right).

re: The view from my "office"

I was working today  in a vineyard near Pemberton in the lower SW of WA doing the final assessment of a fungicide trial for Botrytis control.

Lovely warm, sunny day. Vineyards may look beautiful but they are incredibly humid to work in during summer.

Variety is Chardonnnay and heavy Botrytis infection is not pretty. Let me assure you that stuff in cow horns buried under the full moon, dancing naked and hitting on Tinkerbell at the bottom of the vineyard do not protect from Botrytis.

But a nice Picardy Shiraz was pleasant with the excellent steak at the Pemby pub tonight after a long day :).

Another full day in the vineyards coming up tomorrow.

The Eagles are playing here in Pokolbin at Hope Estate on Saturday night. The vineyards are looking gorgeous at the moment - I guess so long as you are not looking for Botrytis.

Shocked! Who would have thought that! But was probably fun though.:)

Back to the real office on the W coast on a perfect day today .

Activity on the Swanbourne SAS base meant that the section of the beach fronting the bases was closed. The dunes are prohibited entry at all times. I'm not one for arguing with the SAS ;).

Quick shot of a couple of Blackhawks coming in over City Beach on their run into the base. The crews have a nice view from their more exciting office than mine.

Nice office - where everything is "free". Enjoy the flights over the ditch and back :D (plus the dinner of course)
