The Master SQ Guide (Krisflyer, Waitlists & Waitlists Clearing)

That's great, if you can find the availability and book early. There is so much commentary about the lack of saver seats that its good to see that multiple seats on some flights are still available. I had a look on AC Aeroplan and it looks as though SQ only makes one J seat available on the first and last flight of the day ex MEL. Mind you, the days of me having a spare 423,000 miles available have long gone.

i feel/hope saver availability increases once we are past the 365 day window since the last devaluation ;)
think should be Oct/Nov 2026.

I am looking for FRA in September this year for 1 in J and nothing except access.
used to be able to find 1pax pretty easily +/- 2days of what I needed, usually saver 1 way and advantage the other way

FRA used to be good, AMS can be good.

LGW is hit and miss

Savers will become harder IMO with the new J product :(

or put another way, Airlines will continue to push redemptions to the routes and flights where it is of most benefit to them.

SQ have always done this with every change of fitout, aircraft etc since I started this thread back in pre-historic 2014.

I have a J saver flight in 3 weeks, got another "you are still on the waitlist" email today, so it will be cancelled next week IMO

I have another booking already at the Advantage level so that's ok for this flight.

After this years travels, I have to start burning up the 3 million QF points I have on EK flights

Just received waitlist was not successful email for a MEL-SIN-CDG J saver in 2 weeks, and there appears to be around 8 seats left in J as well :(

Well yeah that’s unfortunately well known how SQ works with awards - there are a fixed aka small number of award seats per flight, for Saver and Advantage. Once those sell out - they’re gone and SQ do not release additional inventory. If it’s flight day and for whatever reason, the 50% of the cabin is empty because revenue tickets didn’t sell, then yeah SQ will still always prefer to fly those seats empty rather than clear the waitlist and give pax those seats.

Hi all.

I'd like to get two seats in F one way SYD-SIN or the other way around.
As I understand Saver doesn't exist for F.
I can book Advantage without the "waitlist" mark straight away, is that correct?
I have Gold status with SQ which will expire in a couple of months, does this give me anything for my case or not really if I am not aiming for those waitlisted seats?
What's the point of some seats are being waitlisted by SQ? Is it because they are in demand because of better flight time?

It does exist for 777 F, and in my experience is more likely to show up when searching from SYD to another intra Asia city serviced with F, like CGK or DEL. But finding two seats might be very difficult.

Yes

Nope, your F benefits outrank the Elite Gold benefits

Because loads and trends indicate they might be able to sell them for cash, and they'd rather sell them for cash than at the Saver/Advantage points rate if they can. As departure gets closer, if loads haven't shifted or there's a downward trend in demand, they might release to the waitlist.

Signed up on waitlist not two days ago for J saver Sydney all the way to Europe for May 2027.

Waitlist confirmation e-mail came through this morning. Quite a pleasant surprise, not a bad way to start the weekend!

Wow - I'm still getting the You're waitlisted for some J an F flights in and out of AMS for December and January

Given the time of year I doubt they will clear

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, but agree that is a busy time of year. June is on the other hand a lovely time to head to Amsterdam with warm weather and 10pm sunsets. :)

Amsterdam has indeed swapped to the Boeing 777-300ER (B77W) indefinitely as of next month, its still there for my May 2027 flight which is an interesting shakeup. Amsterdam was actually the very first route to get the A350LH with SQ, a decade ago now. The A350 ironically replaced the 777W back then and now it’s swapping back after all this time, so a bit of nostalgia here.

Today had a 2xJ waitlist BNE-FCO released for 13 May 2027. Saver seems very tight 12 months out, with the ongoing ME situation?

I did want to reply this before I forget, but KFEG absolutely does help, however little. A little known and often-buried perk of this status is Priority Waitlist - which means when it comes to waitlist clearing, you’ll jump the queue ahead of lower status holders. However that being said, PPS and Solitaire PPS of course also have this as a perk, and likewise get higher prio than Golds, so while useful and I’m sure helped me get my AMS saver cleared so quickly, probably best to keep expectations moderate.

Priority reservation waitlist

If you are waitlisted for a revenue ticket or an award ticket on Singapore Airlines or a Star Alliance carrier, you’ll receive priority as a KrisFlyer Elite Gold member over and above those with Elite Silver status and below.

This may increase the likelihood of a waitlisted award redemption clearing for you from time to time, but it’s certainly no guarantee.

Thankyou - very helpful, especially for people like me with the HSBC card and are irregular SQ flyers.
The Heathrow express perk will be handy:

Heathrow Express upgrade

KrisFlyer Elite Gold members are entitled to a complimentary upgrade to Business First Class on Heathrow Express trains (which link London Heathrow Airport with London Paddington Station in 15 minutes, every 15 minutes).

This requires the purchase of a standard class one-way or return ticket on the service. You can simply sit in Business Class on board, subject to seat availability, and present your ticket and KrisFlyer Elite Gold membership card (physical or digital) to the attendant.
