While waiting at Sydney Virgin Domestic Gate 34 last week, I was seated at the chairs that back to the 'windows with no view' and heard a russle in the wall nearby.
Eventually I spotted a man sleeping on the floor behind the false wall where the Gate attendants sit. Just a big enough space for a small guy - about shoulder width and under 2 metres long.
He wasn't particularly well dressed and did have some small bags and I recalled Tom Hanks in 'The Terminal'. Wondered, if he is a vagrant, if a terminal wouldn't be too bad a place to nest - air-conditioned, secure, rest rooms, etc.

Probably gone by now, but has anyone else seen him, or similar situations?

Or maybe it is a variation of eat at the airport before the flight so you don't have to eat in the air; sleep at the airport before the flight so you can do other things while in the air?
