The Long Way Back From PEI.

@drron out of curiosity what image size are you using for TR's. Without wanting to sound like Goldilocks, I find that when posting photos, when I use the thumbnails they are too small and the full size are too large however your photo size seems to be just right.

I still use Picasa and downsize the photos to 480 pixels.I used to go to 360 but I consulted the expert #JohnM and he felt 480 was better.
I do use 1024 pixels for panorama shots.

But this would be on a computer not on a phone or ipad - is that correct.

I will have to go back and reread both your threads again about PEI but I get the impression you preferred Nova Scotia to PEI. How long would you recommend to tour around?

Yes I do my TRs on a computer.

We both thought Nova Scotia was more scenic than PEI and you still got all the seafood you wanted. We had 6 nights in PEI and 3 in Nova Scotia and we could have reversed that.Mrsdrron wanted to see the Anne of Green Gables sights but you could do that in a day.The minor roads where most of the sight seeing is were mostly in a bad condition.A couple were in Nova Scotia but in general the roads were better.Unfortunately hurricane Dorian took away a full day in Nova Scotia.

Thanks @drron I will reread when I get closer to booking and may have some more questions. Currently about to go through more >300 photos from Floriade and the tulip farm to post

PEI will send you a really good visitor guide book, it had all the scenic drives in it, but most of the drives all you see is TREES !! The sea-scape is hidden by a zillion trees in most places. We did 4 of the drives - the last one I just couldnt put up with all the pot holes so we didnt do it. The main highways are OK for driving and there is a really good road from the Bridge into town. It would have been much better to reverse our days and only 3 on PEI and 5 on NS.

I am still watching this thread with interest as we have now booked the outward leg to Portland, Nova Scotia and PEI. At this stage we plan on spending 2-3 days in Portland, the ferry to Nova Scotia, pick up a car, 4-5 days travelling in NS and finally a couple of days on PEI before making our way back through CA. We realise that we will be visiting PEI in the off season however the only place that MrsM and MissM want to visit is Anne's House which I understand is open until the end of October. @drron and @mrs.dr.ron I would like to extend my thanks for sharing your PEI travels.

Thanks for a very detailed and informative Trip Report, drron. I'm going to have to go back now and follow the first prt of your trip, prior to Prince Edward Island. I'm sure that will be equally as enjoyable.
