The changing face of VA cabin crew

Is there still a height restriction on becoming a FA? I assume they are probably supposed to be tall enough to reach the OH lockers but I've seen the very occasional FA on VA who seemed a bit on the petite side.

I'm guessing this is airline/country of origin (for the airline, not the crew) requirements. I've seen some FA's taller than I am, which seems to be counter productive to safety based on them having to duck under things frequently!

I am pretty sure there's a minimum height, and would guess there is a maximum. They have to be able to perform certain tasks, so the requirements would no doubt be based around these.

Minimum height required is only to be able to reach overhead locker, and they 'are' able to use standing on a seat to aid this. No max height. Though I know at VA, FA's over a certain height are not required to operate on the Embraers.

The changing face of cabin crew.... well no doubt the OP's appearance has changed over the same period of time, what's the point?

At five foot nothing my sister had to give up her dream of becoming a FA. But that was about 5 years ago now. Don't know if it still stands.

I will admit that I have mainly experienced warm professional service yet at times some very poor service on Virgin flights. I expect as the brand expands we can expect some gaps in consistency. I feel the Cabin Supervisor is responsible and can have the greatest effect on any passengers flight experience. If the CS does not ensure uniform, warm friendly professional approach and efficient meal service are upheld we, the passenger will disembark with poor opinion of the Virgin Australia brand.

QF employs a minimum and maximum

Most others seem to have a minimum only, so as to ensure you can reach all safety equipment in the lockers.
