That was a 'fun' day. (A comedy of delays)

Yesterday, I flew NRT-xLAX-SEA. JL/AA.
As I was heading to Narita, I got an email saying JL62 had been delayed 50 mins. The aircraft was late arriving from JFK.
Boarding started 20 minutes after original departure time (1705).
Missing passengers caused additional delay.
Finally pushed back at 1824, and now, having missed the slot and now into the start of the evening peak, it took until 1855 to reach the runway.
Reached the TBIT gate at 1128, 1h38 late.

That had eaten into my 2h50 connection and I got a express connection pass upon leaving the aircraft.
Once through CBP and TSA, it was 1210 - the boarding time listed on my reprinted AA boarding pass - which was in the "Eagle's Nest" remote terminal. So off I go to the bus, instead of heading to the QF F lounge as I had planned.

Getting to gate 52, I find that AA6046 is now showing a 2 hour delay. The aircraft having had a delay in the morning and still in SMF.
So into the AA club and boarding called at 1415 for a planned 1430 departure.
Once everyone is on, the flight crew say they are waiting for maintenance to come sign some paperwork and that should be all done within the next 20 minutes.
However, maintenance is working on the aircraft at the next gate and takes an hour to even get to us.
Paperwork all done after another 20 minutes, but now the crew has timed out. Not to worry, there's a new crew on the way.

Fuel is topped up, new crew arrives, crews swap their bags. Old crew leaves, new crew runs their checks and deals with dispatch and we've now been sitting there for 2 hours (and I start to worry about the US tarmac delay rules).

We finally push back and get to Seattle 4 hours late.
At least they didn't send one of my bags to cargo like they did in SLC last week.

Next flight on trip this afternoon...

LOL. Of course it is.

(They've just changed the aircraft and it's back to "on time". Which has completely confused the tracking sites. One thinks it's now delayed until 1am, another says 1 hour delay as above)

Today's flight departed early. The planned departure time when I checked in was 10 minutes later then original schedule. Departed before original schedule.
Then landed LAX 30 minutes early.
So early that all the gates over at Eagle's nest were in use and we had to park in a remote stand (well, a taxiway between the south runways and the AA hangers) waiting for a gate to clear.

So of course, arrived at the gate late.
