Got offered one of those QF bid upgrades, does anyone know if status comes into the computer says “Yes” or “No” decision. I have put in a bid for minimum points and minimum dollars and to be honest not fussed if it does not clear. It is a domestic flight.

Maybe status has something to do with it, but remember bid upgrades will come after all status requests (with points) are processed so it may even be first come, first served.. If they're offering a bid though it may mean there are few upgrade requests in.

Funny you should bring this up. I got my first one the other day .. disc Y to J, domestic. I saw their minimum bid, and didn't bother.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have had a few lately - got one for a flight tomorrow which I ignored - I think the cost and the number of points was excessive and I thought it was better to just apply for an upgrade through MMB

Well I am now a little wiser.

This was my first offer as well

What was you min points and cost, if you do not want to mention here we can take off line.

So my offer was min 3000 points per sector ADL-SYD-MEL and my total cash bid was $210.00. Original booking class was discount Y, those red-e-things so for me potentially dropping $200 + 6K points travelling during dinner meal times seem to be ok. It is not connecting travel as I am SYD for a couple of days.

The standard total points upgrade would have been 27.5K which I would just not pay as that is only a 1000 points short of a J-F MEL-SIN upgrade.

At the end of the day it is my first offer for the this points and cash upgrade thing with QF. If it does not come through I do not care and will ignore any future offer. I am still in 4C+ shadow to SYD and the first middle row of 4 on the a330 with a shadow, so I can not really complain.

I think you're giving the system way too much credit - here's my experience:

I had a classic upgrade request lodged, but not cleared, for a domestic flight. (10k QFFP)
A few days later I got a Bid Now email, clicked the link to see what the min bid was (3k + $170) but did not bother.
Next day the classic upgrade cleared.
Two days later, got another bid now reminder asking me again if I'd like to bid.
