Last Saturday our grandson aged 17 was booked to fly BNE-SYD- CBR. He arrived with about 2 mins to spare after having been caught up on the freeway due to a truck accident. By the time he made it to the desk the check in had closed. He told me that the agent was rather rude to him and directed him to the service desk.

The lovely lady at the service desk then booked him on the direct BNE- CBR flight at no extra charge. A single phone call to Qantas the next day and his frequent flyer points were changed to the original booking , with the extra 1000 points showing by the end of the day.

WELL DONE QANTAS.

a good news story, good one. :D

also would like to thank Juliette who was on QF529 BNE to SYD @ 12:25 on Monday (16 Jan 12). She was personable, funny, professional and gave me a great lift to my otherwise standard day.

Thanks Juliette

Today I had avery nice experience calling Qantas for help, I had originally booked LAX/AKL/BNE/CNS as a JASA but few months back was able to change it to DFW/BNE/CNS, after some complex accounting for booking fees and additional charges by the online consultant, Qantas are refunding me a chunk of it. (had already transferred points to new flights), so very happy chappie.

Another thumbs up to Qantas, inflight service on QF107 in PE and QF108 in J was impeccable. I was traveling with my 6 month daughter and wife to NYC and they went out their way to ensure we had a comfortable journey. Special thanks to Gents in the Crew who have been with QF for 20-30+ years. You are an asset to QF.

I recently had cause to cancel and alter a JASA, Qantas did it over the phone at no point penalty.
Recently went to Yulara from Melb through Sydney with my parents, both well into their 80's, the staff were magnificent all the way including arranging assisted transport.
Have just been to Darwin & back, once again staff were magnificent.
The staff are defintly doing the right thing by the travelling public from my experiences !!
KEEP SUPPORTING THEM !!

In my case there was no penalty as I transferred points from US/Aust. sectors to a completely different route, turned out was overcharged on some fees and booking, now being refunded, took about 15mins to work it out the Qantas consultant, but was an excellent result.

The thread title was very appropriate for my recent experience. Flew HNL-SYD-PER Fri/Sat last weekend. Part way through QF571 my wife started throwing up and shaking. The QF cabin crew did all they could to make her comfortable including giving her oxygen and a wheelchair ride off the aircraft. Once in the terminal it was decided she'd go to the first aid room and then off in an ambulance. Both the inflight crew and the ground staff at PER domestic were great and even provided a staff member to help me get our luggage to the taxi rank (with my 5 yr old in tow. My wife didn't want to be worrying about her not being in bed).

Official diagnosis was dehydration and a migraine after some decent IV's she was home in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Thank you note sent to QF via their website.

Unfortunately, there haven't been many posts in here since the OP, possibly leading to mean QF don't provide these kinds of experience to many of us :(

Negatron much?

Ive had many since the thread started but as I suspect like many others am a bit busy to note them all down! I'll try and remember to post back an outstanding Syd-Singapore one in a few weeks!

I have no idea what 'negatron' means, but i'll infer it.

I think the problem QF has is that they don't have enough of these 'above and beyond' type stories. I can count several on VA in the past 12 months for me personally, and over the past 5 years, probably 1 or 2 less than VA have done for me in the previous 12 months.

It comes down the thing everyone keeps saying around here. QF are 'consistently inconsistent'. I get far better treatment from AA as a WP than QF, which is saying something. It's great if you've only had good experienced, kudos to QF and yourself, I can only voice my own experiences of course:)

Thank you yes I have mostly good-great experiences. I'm quite a happy positive person and that seems to attract the same in people and experiences. I just feel this forum is so overwhelmingly negative most of the time it's quite draining (so I have small doses of it!!!)

'Everyone' does not say that - sorry I just don't like sweeping generalizations or people putting words in my mouth because I certainly haven't said such a thing and I know a lot of others on AFF certainly haven't :)
And just because they don't get posted in this thread or site doesn't mean they don't have them more often.

I find VA and JQ horribly inconsistent , much more so than QF in my experiences. VA and JQ usually manage ranging from a slightly annoying inconsistancy to totally hilarious stupid service (in my experiences) but I just roll with it and try and fly who I think provides a better product for me :)

Anyway no more OT!

QF969 this morning excellent service from Carol and Vickie in J. They need more crew members and CSMs like those two. Fantastic, above and beyond kind of service. I haven't had better service in domestic J. Well done ladies!

OK one more OT ;)

i'll replace 'everybody' with 'the vast majority'. I've had stunning QF flights, and absolutely abysmal flights, in the same week, on the same routes. I just feel that being consistent is more important :)
And yes, now back on topic!

I had a great experience in J flying from HBA to SYD a few weeks ago. I can't remember the CSM's name, but she was a real delight. I don't eat seafood (not allergic just don't like the stuff) and they served up barra as the meal. There were no other choices. I wasn't that hungry so I was happy to go without - no biggie. Anyway, CSM would not hear of it. She first found some Y food for me including a muffin that she warmed up. Not being satisfied that I was satisfied, she then located a breakfast meal from the previous morning sector (SYD to HBA) which had been stored in the galley and heated it up for me. It was delicious. She truly went above and beyond - and did it all with a smile!
