Hi,

Flying to Santiago on Saturday with my wife in J.

I booked a JASA and she has a classic awards seat both on LAN flight.

When I look at Expert Flyer it still shows some seats available for the QF27 direct flight. (Funny thing is I can't see all seats however - not sure why?)

Does anyone know if I stand a chance on getting moved if they are still free at the end of the week.

I am Plat and my wife silver.

Cheers

There are always seat map irregularities on these codeshare flights - QF and LA seem to block sections of seating for ticketing through their own codes.

The available seats will also be unlikely to be in an "award" fare bucket - so you'd likely struggle to get the classic changed (although it's free to ask!), and the JASA would likely result in a "fare difference" of a not insubstantial amount of points.

Still, cost of the phone call to ask if possible. "Worst" answer is no and you travel as booked.

The Lan flights can be great with a good crew and the seats are more 'friendly' for couples. The key differential is you play crew lottery. I had a wonderful flight with LAN, persuaded a colleague to fly with me on LAN the next time...and had possibly the worst service I've experienced in J on a long haul since Pakistan International Airways in 1995.

Cheers all.

I will try the call on Friday and again at the First Checkin counter on Saturday morning.

Originally I was on the 6.50am to Auckland before connecting whilst my wife was on the Lan plane thewhole way. When I booked it was an extra $3K or so to go all the way on Lan BUT last night was playing around and a seat come up and I got a $33 refund to change onto Lan all the way.

Go figure!
