It's my first time taking a virgin flight since early this year, I know they were doing renovations back in Jan, can someone shed some light how long is the bag drop queue now without priority?

Back in Jan I waited almost an hour just to bag drop, and add another half an hour for security which meant I had 10 minutes only in the lounge to grab a quick bite.

I am flying out this Saturday.

Update on T2 security this week:

At Terminal 2, six of the seven new security lanes are operational, supported by new technology that allows passengers to keep laptops and aerosols in their bags.

Works continue at T2, with six of the sixteen new automatic bag drops to be operational by the end of the year, along with two new lifts and two new escalators post-security. These changes support Sydney Airport’s commitment to get passengers from kerb to gate in 15 minutes.

Flew ex SYD last week at 11am and asked of the lady gatekeeper, I'd read there was some kind of Priority line somewhere for Virgin Platinums and Biz class pax etc.

She looked at me blankly, and said there was some kind of Priority lane for about an hour or 2, at 8am or so.

Gotta luv that breathless Velocity email only weeks back advising there WAS some kind of exciting new arrangement, as they were closing the kerbside entry for good.

Race to the bottom continues.
