Check out secure parking website this indicates which of their car parks offer cheap PM parking, usually in Melbourne I book on line pre paid for good deals with secure as they have a good range of locations, but not sure re Sydney, but check their website....cheers V

Last Friday we had our anniversary dinner at Quay.great food and the most awesome view of the Harbour bridge to the Opera house and Circular Quay. However they open their online bookings 6 months out and you need to book pretty promptly. Will do a full review later.

Thanks, will check that out. It's only available for 4 weeks out, so I'll need to wait a few days.

I used the Sofitel carpark on Friday night. Was only $15 but did close at 12.

Downside is the walk back up the hill from the Quay!

Thanks for this tip Magpie10. I am in the precess of bkg a spot 1 month in advance for us to go to Bennelong. Just want to clarify as it is a little ambiguous on the site, IF I arrive later than booked, do I loose my spot, does anyone l know. I am herding a few cats and can't be sure of the arrival time, which in SYD traffic can't be that unusual anyway.

No as long as you arrive later than booked all should be good. I usually book to arrive "after" and arrive after that time and all fine....cheers V

if you're going to Bennelong just book/ turn up to the opera house carpark. convenient.

highly recommend Sepia and Tetsuya's as my top Sydney resto's.

Was disappointed by the service at Quay. Aria food a bit bleh. Cafe Sydney view is certainly enjoyable if you can get a table on the terrace.

The secure parking pay in advance is only $15, a lot cheaper than the parking under the OH. Plus, I'd like a stroll down Macquarie St before dinner. Originally, I did book the Sydney Cafe table on the terrace at the edge, but they would only give to us till 8.15 pm which I thought was ridiculous, so off to Bennelong we go. At least we can stay there till 9.30pm.

If this is a big celebration , why drive? Or is one of your party a non drinker?
How many going? Is getting a room somewhere a viable option?

Yes, we have 1 non drinker and there's 5 of us so it is quite neat for a car. The 'celebrity' ended up chosing the venue as a place not yet visited. It's a shame it's not closer to Christmas so we could have two celebrations in one.

I received a Secure Parking offer via text the other day - weekend and overnight parking at all top CBD locations for only $9.99. Online booking using the code SYDCBD115.

Thanks Milboo. We are going on a week day evening so sadly this won't work for us. But, very useful for those over nighters and weekenders.

While easy to find, Sepia is located on sussex which is moderately busy Sydney street. Having had the opportunity to dine in many other fine dining establishments it would be fair to say I had my doubts about Sepia. I was expecting it to be good, but really didn't know exactly what to expect from 'Sydney's best restaurant'. (2015)

Those doubts soon dissipated as each dish came out. My wife and I are particularly fond of seafood which probably made the experience all the more enjoyable. The masterfully prepared items on the menu were exquisite in both flavour and their textural component. In particular the Cobia which was a real stand out for us. Texturally sitting between cured and raw, the fillet was immensely flavourful but not too salty. The expertly seasoned items allowed the dish to come together in each mouthful without any one ingredient shouting louder than the rest. What ensured was a beautiful contrast of enjoyable textures and comfortable flavours with a light kick of acid to bring it all together.

Without going through each dish in detail, this was probably one of the best dining experiences we've had. Our only slight disappointment were the desserts. Perhaps its a subjective item as we didn't feel that the 'Spring Chocolate forest' was quite up to the same lofty standards as the savoury dishes. The dish was tasty, presented well and all that, but it was lacking another dimension.

The service was good, friendly and prompt. We didn't explore the wine list, but it was a decent sized catalogue which I'm sure would cater to most tastes. Overall it was a brilliant experience, one that I would gladly return to

Ate again recently at The Bridge Room - always reliable, always fantastic.

Ester - get here! Eat the Cheddar pie!

Checked out China Lane in Angel Place last week. Have been a fan of China Doll for years and this offshoot did not disappoint. Highly recommend it - especially the Moreton bay bug dumplings in shredded pastry.
