Hi guys,

Just looking for some advise.

I am flying to SGN in October for my honeymoon and would like to treat the wife to her first international J flight.

We fly domestic J most of the time by purchasing Y and then upgrading with points which works for us the majority of time.

Just trying to find out the best way to so this, I have access to about 450000 points so I thought an ASA would be an easy option. I realise that QF doesn't fly to SGN so I thought an ASA to SIN would be the go and then a quick jump to SGN by a local carrier. However searching around the dates I need shows no available J seats???

Am I better buying a non sale ticket which is a few hindered more than the sale ticket and rolling the dice to get a point upgrade?? Only a bronze so not sure how my chances to SIN would be?

Any advice?? Thanks in advance

Have you also looked at MEL-SIN and BNE-SIN?

Also worth trying Bangkok.

Use points to get to SIN/BKK (you could book to one and come back from the other if necessary, just do two one ways) and maybe just book revenue fares for the SIN/BKK-SGN flights, probably the best way to do it while still using points.
