I am looking for an effective (time / less stops) routing to Berlin via OW
Any suggestions?
Best is to Frankfurt and train but the train takes a while
Thanks
Andy

Thanks AirWin, I found them too and its probably the best direct option but I cannot find flights after Nov 17 or they are not loaded.
I have done the google fights, Expedia etc.
Last year we did SYD, LHR, Barcelona which worked and we had some time in the arrivals / departure lounges but it did add extra hours to flying.

Next year SWMBO is singing (with a Choir) in Berlin and other former republics of the Socialist Soviet Union for 2 weeks, so nice places with a lot of history. She does not like travel as much as I do and I will join her later in the tour after several connections, planes and airports :D After the tour we will be in the DSA (UK) for a week before coming back to Oz. Planes don't help her voice too much (too dry or too much Champagne) so Qatar is probably the best option if the flight is available.

So I am looking for efficient transfers and easy travelling for her but returning out of the UK. She is gold OW.
Appreciate any suggestions

Does anyone fly regularly to or from Berlin? or suggest how to get there.

Via the UAE or Doha seems be the most direct routing I've found.
I have flown Etihad and Qatar and found Qatar has the better service.
Everything else requires 2 stops, BA + FY etc.

We are going Kuala Lumpur to Berlin(Tegel) on Wednesday, stopover in Doha is a couple of hours, coming back we are going Berlin to Melbourne, but the stopover in Doha is over 12 hours, but they are giving us accomodation. Not sure if this helps.

Next shortest would look to be Austrian (Thai to BKK then via VIE). Then LHR via VIE and BKK on the way home or via FRA with LH.

Thanks for the replies. I will research them. A couple of good options there.

You can also try to fly Emirates to Hamburg and train it from there- much closer than FRA or MUC so really a short hop from there.

If it must be oneworld, then QF/BA to LHR and then BA LHR-TXL.

Or you could go QF to DXB, then AB from Abu Dhabi - with a bus ride between the two cities (only an hour or so, but a bit of a stuff-around).

When we landed at Tegel it was fortunate we were in "j"and first of the plane. 2 people doing EU passports, 2 people doing all others. Bags off were fairly quick,. I didn't realise Tegel would be so small, but I guess the Schoenberg problems are creating issues!
