I arrive SIN at 0010 and have departure at 0800. Both flights on SQ J. Not sure of best option...
stay in lounge and snooze or check into hotel, at/near airport or city.
Will have min hand luggage as baggage will be checked to final destination. Recommendation appreciated.

Book the airside transit hotel for a good night's sleep!

I've done similar... left airport, went to a 24 hour hawker center, gorged on satay, some other dishes and beer. Then around 3 something am went back to airport, into lounge and showered and changed and spent the next few hours in the lounge.

But not for all tastes!

If you enjoy the sounds of vacuum cleaners & cleaning staff meandering around the lounge as you attempt to sleep, by all means stay in the lounge.
Better option would be to, at least stay in the airport transit hotel. IME.

Now THAT sounds like the perfect stopover!!!

I've actually done literally a very similar stopover recently (flying out syd on SQ at around 19:10, late arrive at SIN at around 00:30 with a flight to KUL not until the morning) and due to the number of people travelling, the only way we could get everyone into a lounge was priority pass lounges which forced us to head to the Skyview lounge as not everyone was flying SQ J.

Overnight at the lounge was definitely not pleasant though because while there was hardly any people there so we had the liberty to take a shower whenever we wanted and relax in peace, you never get enough proper rest to be able to function the next day properly. The result was that we ended up at our final destination only to be so exhausted that we practically wasted the arrival afternoon.

I would definitely suggest going to a transit hotel if possible.

I booked room but at T2. My departure in the morning is from T3. That's no big matter, IMO. Reasonable cost for the room and time won't be wasted clearing customs and travelling beyond airport. Will have breakfast in SQ J lounge before flight.

Good decision....only 2-3 mins by airside train between T2 & T3
