I've visited Hong Kong many times but usually stay in either the Wan Chai/Causeway bay area or have stayed in TST a couple of times. This time we are staying at Langham Place. I know the mall connected to the Langham but I'm wondering if there are any other decent shopping destination near the hotel. Have done the ladies/electronics market before so am not looking for that, something a bit more upscale but interesting. I will have one whole day to myself to do as I please as DH is heading off over the border to visit a trade show for the day and my Chinese visa has expired so I can't go (what a pity! :)). I will probably head over to my familiar haunts on the island but wondered if I should go somewhere closer to the hotel first.

Thanks!

what are you looking to buy? the area you are staying is typically expensive due to the huge numbers of mainland tourists.

if looking for similar to langham place some other options would be elements mall at kowloon station, harbour city tsim sha tsui.

also for outlet shopping you can go to tung chung near the airport - citygate

The computer shops are a short subway trip further out. And of course, you could catch the sub/train right through to Shenzen! You can get a fast visa at the exit of the station.
Love Langham Place.

Last time we were there, a couple was being married, over three looong days. The groom looked perky to start with, but by the third day, we saw him leaning in the elevator, looking rather shabby, and moaning. Not sure what from! :)

But you know what I would do? Go and have afternoon tea at the Peninsula (on the Harbour). It is simply, exquisite.

Looking to buy the usual female suspects ie cosmetics, shoes, handbags and clothes. :)
Afternoon tea sounds lovely but I'm on a diet so I think that might be a "no no".
hmmmm... Harbour City, I think I know that one, is there a large M & S there? after a while they all start to run together in my head.. half the time I remember a restaurant or a shop etc but am not even sure which country it was in let alone which city!! Im hoping that a common FF thing and not just me getting old and senile!
Thanks for the suggestions!

cheers

The Peninsula does have a lot of fashion designer shops (Chanel, Versace etc) surrounding the tea room.

You could ask for low fat um, well, skim milk in your tea perhaps?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There is a pretty local mall nearby called Olympian City which is on top of Olympic MTR station. Walkable from the Langham (or take almost any bus that goes does Argyle Street).

It is a tier below a mall like Elements but would be OK for a few hours I think.

go for harbour city, it does have the large m&S and is the biggest out of all those mentioned.

You can go causeway bay, it is few stations far from Monkok, but it is worth to visit there.
