I just booked MEL-dxb-LHR//VIE-lhr-dxb-MEL in QF F (and BA J). 2 pax for 320K miles + US$448.40.

There is availability out there, I just had MLE-AUH-LHR on EY in J/F ticketed today, but it is definitely limited and getting lower by the day.

I will be using SQ PER-SIN-MLE so if you have Velocity points that may be an option for you.

True, in a rush to burn my miles I got probably the last 2 F seats on a EH A380 in January that will be able to be booked before the deval.

Going to India ;-) OOL-SYD-MEL-AUH-BOM
Bargain at 60k each.

Is there a reason why aa.com is showing so much phantom? A bit of sleight of hand?

I've successfully booked QF1 F to LHR on AA.com recently. Why the assumption that it's all phantom?

Same. I had 4 options for the date range I was after, 2 were phantom and 2 weren't

Because that's what's been happening.
I also booked an F Award in February (LHR-MEL). It was showing amongst a ton of F Awards but only the actual date I booked was available.

The question was
"There's a ton of availability, is it normal or phantom?"
I didn't say it was all phantom.

Fair enough. Just a misinterpretation of your post #64. I'd hate for people to disregard everything they see on aa.com as there is hidden treasure in there if you decide to dig.

IMHO, Fraid so. Tried to take advantage of such AA QF F inventory for several trips in the last few weeks, to not to be told that it could not be ticketed 3 days later. Source of truth is QF until this discrepancy is resolved.

Oh absolutely but for several months now AA have been making that treasure hidden pretty deeply.
