I am 90 points off Platinum, and am now sick of just missing it. I start losing a lot of points from the 14th, so want to do my first status run ever. Since I have been Gold for years all on the cheapest fare, it may be time to try something more expensive!

I'm in Brisbane and need 90 points. Does anyone have any ideas, I am not that familiar with where to go and how to earn, as I have always flown specific routes to Sydney or Adelaide for work only.

Thanks for the advice!

If you travel down to Gold Coast, OOL to MEL via. SYD can be cheap in Flexi fares cost/status points wise.... But then your 10 short.... Hmmm

Someone else will be able to suggest better :) I did my first, and only thus far, status run afew months ago, BNE<->SYD in one go to get me over the line for Gold, only needed 20, and time at the time was of the essence - Couldn't do OOL that day, had commitments back in BNE that night, else would have gone OOL to save slightly more on the Saver Fares.

I was looking for a flight back to MEL at the end of a trip to BNE and found it was cheaper to fly J out of OOL with the routing OOL-ADL-MEL, which would have netted me the 100 status credits I so desperately needed less than 2 months out from my status review date.

I couldn't book this routing online so I called and asked them to waive the fee which they did.
