Historically I have found that the CSM on QFi flights has typically individually greeted high status pax not long after take off to thank them for flying and asking if there is anything they can help with etc. While I have typically found it a bit clinical, it does help when they offer express path cards for arrival into Australia.
On QF6 this morning, I noticed the CSM only approached a few select groups offering champagne and express cards etc. As a SG, I was not offered any recognition at all.

This found me wondering do they only recognise Platinum and Platinum1 now?

It was my understanding that they always have only greeted WP & WP 1, i don't remember it as a SG, if you have received it previously then you are probably lucky,( for want of a better word).
As a WP ,i get it every QFI flight and i do appreciate it and the team absolutely respect your status .
IMO it is a fabulous initative which qantas should and probably does respect it's benefits

I think it has historically been WP and above only. Receiving the greeting as an SG, which I have on occasion, is not the norm.

Ok that's good to know. Perhaps I have indeed been lucky, if that's the right word...

Receiving a greeting as a Gold is down to something in your profile (eg, birthday, special flight etc). Personal greetings, As far as I have always known it, was the domain for WP, WP1 and CL (regardless of class of travel)

I've noticed the 'can i get anything for yous' don't seem to be coming anymore for me - just a banal chat which comes across as quite insincere, particularly at the end of a long flight when the FAs are really tired. Fortunately they'll still provide the Express pass on request, haven't asked for any more as my last few flights have been in J so I've been happy enough.

I received a greeting from CSM on my last flight ~2 weeks SIN-SYD and given express arrivals.

Nothing for the rest of the flight. The guy behind me was addressed by name by the FA every time.

Only time I got CSM greeting as a SG was on an almost completely empty QF107 LAX-JFK flight a few years ago. I guess I was the only status pax in Y that day...

SWMBO travelled on QF128 some time ago as WP on PE (Y > PE with points grade). No greetings.
Requested an Express pass from a female FA and was told to wait. Didn't come back so requested it again from a male FA.
Was told that it is "very limited and don't know whether I can get you one". Waited till landing...both FA never came back.
Now she tries to avoid QF as much as possible.

WOW, someone would drop an airline over that. Agree service was not ideal , but does seem trivial, stuff happens
Could have been a simple oversight from the CS , might have had something more important to deal with. Generally the FA would only know someone is a Premuim status if the are told by CSM or CSS.

Wow! Just contributing to the discussion. ..
Well, to add another reason flying J on MH Mnl-Kul-Syd return for USD1600! A little longer but save heaps.

Sorry was not trying to offend

I completely understand the financial reasoning

I find that if you make eye contact with them and they are doing the greeting nearby, they will check your seat and chat to you. I've been greeted a few times as a Gold FF and whilst it isn't consistent/guaranteed, it is a nice touch when it happens.

As a WP I "usually" receive recognition on QFi, but almost always on EK.

Over the last year or so I have had 3 or 4 flights to or from Europe with a CSM called John (don't know his surname) and I had ZERO recognition. In one occasion I had to ask for express arrival card 3 times (always very politely), and was finally handed an express card with body language implying he was doing me a favor.

Only once we received a thank you for flying QF (not that I expect anything) .... Ball and Chain and I on a flight between Syd - Perth New Years day this year and the CSM came up and greeted, acknowledged and thanked us both (both gold)... shocked as CS normally drops on a full flight with double Krispy Kremes on board... but warmly appreciated

How refreshing to read this in a multitude of SWMBOs and The Better Half's.

As a SG, I received a greeting twice on QFi services. Once from the CSM on a DXB-MEL flight (on the upper deck of an A380) and was offered an express arrival card and another from the CSS in Y on a LHR-DXB flight (was seated at the prized 80K). Apart from that, nothing apart from the occasional 'welcome back' on domestic flights.
