Status Points from 2 Oneworld member Airlines

I have status points accumulated from BA and Qantas. How do I get Oneworld to recognise the total in calculating my status?
You don’t.
Status is calculated and recognised by each individual airline.
You need to pick a FFP and credit all your flights to that program in the future if you want to get status

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Mixed words on your post.
For status
BAEC has tier points
QF has status credits

for redemptions
BAEC has avios. The avios currency is also used by QR, IB, IE & AY.
QF has points

They are not equal or convertible. However with the some airlines that use avios, they can be moved from one to another, subject to t&c's.

Each airline frequent flyer programme has its own rules for earning status.
When you get status that is recognised (in theory) when you input your airline frequent flyer number in a reservation. At times the IT systems do not pick up if you go to a higher status level, since making a reservation..

In a similar vein...I currently hold WP/OWE status with QF, but see no reason to continue to give Qantas my money after I hit LTG. (cos f#$% Qantas). Is there any way to have my OWE status recognised whilst working to gain BAEC Gold status? (or do I have to slum it until I get enough tier points?)

Yes, but tricky.

If you put your Qantas FF number in your BA booking, BA will recognise your QF/Oneworld status, but you won't get any BA credit.

There is apparently the capacity to put one FF number in a certain field in the reservation for benefits and another FF number in a different field for earn, but I'm not sure who can do that. Probably a Travel Agent.

Another way that's been reported is to put your QFF number in the reservation, and check-in to get priority and lounge access, then switch the number over to your BA number while in the lounge to get the BA earnings.

Cool (and thanks!). If this works, might give Qantas the flick sooner....

You dont usually have a problem showing just the card for priority checkin/boarding or lounge access.
Qantas (and maybe other airlines) may not give you the OWE full baggage allowance if you change your number to another programme with lower status

Yup. Fair enough. Baggage allowance is usually not too much of an issue for us (we try to do carry on only for most trips).
