Cool. Are you an existing st George account holder? And did you get approved straight away?

No, and yes, they also stated the credit limit with the instant approval. Had to send verifying paperwork which I would think is pretty standard.

....and I think this is where you will wait for a while. There seems to be quite a backlog in the income verification department!

Has anyone gone from conditional approval to approved in the last few days?

I spoke too soon. My online banking still says I need to verify my income, but the card/letter just arrived dated 15 January.

Click on it goes to vertigo credit card?

But also approved for Amplify card 5-10 days to arrive!

This sounds pretty good to me but can someone please explain this condition a bit more:
"Eligible purchases do not include BPAY or BPAY equivalent transactions"
I regularly use utility bills and rates etc to make up my qualifying spend. Is that out?
No real explanation of what a BPAY equivalent transaction is!

They ran a credit check on me on 24 December and conditionally approved me that day. They drip fed their follow on requirements (pay slips, then a few days later bank statements). I gave them everything they asked for on the 4th of January (confirmed by a call on the 6th) and have just been sitting and waiting ever since. Every day or so I text the SMS bot to check on status and get the same reply saying that they are behind and will get back to me if they need anything. I suppose if you offer a card with a chunky sign on bonus and no fee in the first year you are going to be inundated with applications.

The fact they have just announced the QFF 80K bonus for $0 fee probably explains any backlog.

Sorry I can't answer your question directly but I have been concerned about similar wording with other cards. I have taken the low risk approach and just brought forward spending I would otherwise make by purchasing Coles gift cards ($1000 is less than 6 weeks spend for me) and buying a few $200 Opal (Sydney public transport) cards (I spend about $60/week).

If in doubt about what qualifies for the $4000 spend call them and make notes.

Assume a deposit to IG Markets will qualify for the bonus given it has earned regular points like other transactions? Can anyone confirm at all?

Has worked for me. Easy way to get there for a 1% fee if you can't get there by any other spending.

On the application it has amount owing on other credit cards.

Is this the balance that is yet to be due or overdue amount?

It's ambiguous.

Given I always pay my balance at the end of each statement I always write $0 for this and it has never been questioned, even though at the time of the application it may have been $10K+

ok thanks. Will put down $0 then :)

This is always my approach.

Thanks. I have just been conditionally approved for $15000. It says to send 2 payslips, lets hope this process is painless lol

Send 3 and your bank statements is my advice. Likely that St George will come back and ask for these in the future, so best to be proactive and lessen the delay in your application being processed.
