Card Promotions St George Amplify Signature card with sign-up bonus points

Anyone had issues with priority pass visit not loading. I got the free membership but the free visit has not loaded.

I got a Bank of Melbourne card in early April and closed it quite soon after. I did activate the Priority Pass but can't see any reference to free visits. The PP website says "refer to issuer" for benefits and, of course, that will get me nada as I have closed the card. I might try emailing PP to see whether I have free visits to avoid a disappointment of being turned away at the door.

Perhaps you lost the passes when cancelling the card, I have a Citi prestige and am aware via others experiences that upon cancellation priority pass access is immediately terminated.

That is possible - also possible that they were never loaded. Someone on another thread mentioned that this card had not cancelled the Priority Pass benefits when the card was cancelled. Maybe they were lucky or maybe I cancelled too speedily. It doesn't matter as I came out ahead and wanted to be able to squeeze in another card before I travel overseas next week (and this also worked and have just received 70,000 QF points - thanks Commbank).

I would just like to know whether or not I have lost the free visits because I don't want to spoil a good day by being forced to do the walk of shame away from the lounge.

Possibly could be the case, I also have an amplify card - however it is the qantas version.

I recall that to get my qantas vouchers, I had to log onto a specific page, I had difficulty finding them to use last week - weren’t showing on the qantas app or my ff account, I had to log back onto the St George link I used to request the passes - both were found there, once I linked to flights they moved to the app, given your pp passes don’t link to flights - it’s a long shot but they may be sitting there similar to my qantas ones?

Best of luck, hopefully you avoid the walk of shame, even riskier given that a lot of pp holders get turned away from “pp friendly” lounges.

I'm really not that fussed. I would use them for two specific occasions:
  1. MEL, where I am flying out with SQ in F and the Silver Kris F lounge is not the greatest - I would co-pay $20 to use a PP pass on The House lounge.
  2. KIV (Kishinev) where I am doing a short TAROM flight to OTP (Bucharest) in Y. The KIV PP business lounge looks very ordinary.
In both cases I would have the option of using Lounge Key using my Commbank card which I have not yet cancelled - but this would cost me an additional USD 32 a pop - and not convinced it would be worth it. Depends how I feel on the day.

Anyone else has any issues logging in to the amplify rewards site to redeem points? Getting a message that the details don’t match their records which makes zero sense given the points balance shows in my internet banking and up until yesterday I was able to log in.

Issue resolved itself and was able to get in and transfer my points to KF yesterday. Card now cancelled through the app. Less than 3 weeks between card activation and cancelation. Very efficient process. Will be back again in 12 months time.

Anyone with a data point on how Sniip transactions are classified with respect to sign-up bonuses and "eligible transactions"?

Terms are vague (my bolding):

+ Eligible purchases do not include interest, fees and charges, cash or ATM cash advances, cash equivalent transactions, gambling transactions, a purchase from or payment to a local, state or federal government related agency, BPAY or similar transactions (such as Post Billpay), refunds and balance transfer debited to the card account.

In the Dragon app, my Sniip transaction has been classified as "Bills and payments".

Any data point / past experience appreciated.

Love this question and happy to provide some clarity/confirmation for you.

Short answer is yes, Sniip counts towards your minimum spend for sign-up bonuses and is absolutely always an “eligible transaction”. It comes down to how we process your payment which is a two step transaction.

Step 1 - You pay Sniip (payment into a Trust Account), this is where you earn your full points, receive the eligible transaction and meet any sign-up bonuses.

Step 2 - Sniip makes the BPAY payment on your behalf to your final biller.

Because the funds are cleared in the Sniip Trust account (appears on your statement as ‘Sniip’, it is treated as a normal credit card purchase, not a BPAY transaction!

Hi guys, just wondering how long the bonus points should take to land in my account? Signed up for the Signature 150k deal last month, $12k spend done a week ago (Definitely eligible purchases as my bonus point balance is over 18k) but still no sign of the bonus points. From what I've read they should have landed just a couple days after the spend requirement was met.

Should I contact STG? I don't want to hold this card for another 12 weeks if I can avoid it

Mine came through with the transaction that took me over the $12k spend requirement. I transferred the points out straight away and then cancelled.

Can anyone share their experience on transfer times from Amplify to Krisflyer?

Found some seats that work for our plans and would rather use my amplify points than Amex, however I am concerned that their transfer time may be longer.

An increase in the annual fees for both the Platinum and the Signature cards, as below:

Product nameAmplify PlatinumAmplify Signature
Annual Card Fee$124$295
Annual Qantas Rewards Program fee$75$75
Amplify Rewards Program fee$0 (remains unchanged)$0 (remains unchanged)

Fees effective 20 July 2023, luckily if you apply now it would still be the current annual fee of $99 and $279 respectively for the first year. Better get in quick if you want to churn or hold the Amplify Signature it for 12 months.

Another huge devaluation in the credit card churning space.

That's a 100% fee increase on the Platinum card.
