Our return was from LHR,check in was good got fast track, used Gulf air lounge 5stars, similar plane as used previous leg and same service could nt fault,12 hour layover in Colombo and put into a hotel where we spent the afternoon round the pool then going for buffet dinner then picked up for the 1am flight to SiNG, this time we used ther Lotus lounge not bad say 3star, full flight same plane as the first flight , good food and service.
The return flight cost $ 1750 per person service 10 out 10 and couldn't be faulted, only downside is the long layover but if you can put up with a bit of inconvenience good value fo money .

yes indeed! Sri Lankan business class fares ex SIN and BKK (and probably other asian ports as well) to Europe were offered at well under $1800... not sure if they are still around but they represent probably the best value for money possible. most aircraft on CMB-Europe legs will offer full flat beds. and the service is generally very good (I've had one exception in 10 or flights).
