Hi all,

I booked 2 tickets for SYD-SIN-BKK return using my KrisFlyer points.

I was excited as I was going to be flying out on SQ212 on 11 APR at 08:05 on the A380.

This morning I login to KrisFlyer to book the Singapore stopover on the way back and it seems that the A380 has been changed to a B747.

It looks like the A380 has been moved to the afternoon flight which means a 11pm arrival in BKK with the connecting flight.

Does anyone know if there is a high chance that the A380 will be returned back to the morning flight to SIN?

Even now when I look for a booking via KrisFlyer for 11 APR, only SQ222 appears and no longer the morning flight. Weird.

Thank you in advance.

Does anyone know if there is a high chance.....

Not likely, unfortunately. It apears that SQ212 has an equipment swap from 28 Mar to about 12 Apr from A388 to B744.

There has been 2 daily A388 services for SIN-SYD since Oct 2010.

I'm seeing lots of Y standard on all 4 flights on 11 Apr, but no Y savers, which I'm sure will change.

Interesting thread, I have just been booked on SQ212 on Tuesday 12 April (work trip) and the documents an d the Singapore Airlines website say it will be the A380. Does anyone know if this is indeed true, or if it will be a B747?

Thanks

Shows as 380

With the recent events in Japan, the introduction of A380s on SQ11&12 to LAX was postponed.
And thus they are now back on SQ212.
Where they rightfully belong.

And the flight was indeed operated by the A380. Absolutely stunning, my first time on a A380 and my first time in J on SQ. Absolutely amazing. I was really impressed, and I think it is superior to the QF J product (although I have only ever experienced QF J on the 747s).

Yes the quietness really impressed me.

I am also flying SQ212 again in June, but in Y - will it be as quiet? I am hoping to secure upper deck seats.

I've flown upper deck Y on their A380 and it's reasonably quiet. You can still hear what's going on, but I'd say it's certainly quieter than a 747 or 777

In terms of engine/wind noise, the front part of the main deck would be the quietest (for Y). If you are used to louder aircrafts, the lack of noise could be almost errie. It gets relatively noiser towards the back (which is also where the upper deck Y cabin is located), however, as mentioned, it is substantially quieter than a 747, and also noticably quieter than a 777.
