I have just worked out what I am getting Tommy for XMAS:
View attachment 199509
His own personal SQ LEGO set - if I close my eyes I can totally visualize Tommy and penegal sitting there together around a table and scratching their heads wondering just how this thing goes together!!!
Did the lounge staff tell you how excited I was when I saw that at MEL

I am tearing my hair out trying to book a J flight with my Krisflyer points. The only availability I can find between MEL and EWR is via SIN and PEK. The flights are SQ 208, SQ 800 and CA 819. I can see all of them available as saver awards individually on their website but I cannot get them to combine into one ticket. I tried calling and the consultant was not able to see the same flights that I was able to see. This has happened to me before. Their website is not very good at piecing together a string of flights especially using partners. Any suggestions? I tried HUCA to no avail.

Arr yesterday in F on 238 ~15:15 and headed straight to TPR for a PH Rare - I am dep on 830 in J in morn - mixed class booking and long story so won't bore you.

Was only in TPR enough time to down a couple glasses PH Rare - OMG this champs is so far in front of Dom and Comtes now offered onboard it’s not funny - and wanted to clear with Lounge Mgmt that I could get back into TPR next morn for brekky pre dep in J to PVG

I showed both BPs and explained situation and staff said yep should all be ok because ‘within 24hrs of arrival’ but to check at entry in morn

Clearly diff staff on this morn and explained situation to young Staff Member who cleared it imm with Senior Membee behind her - into TPR we go - Menu:

Ca you see MEL to PEK as a single search?
Just book that and the PEK to EWR separately?
whats the negative breaking it up?

Is it possible to get SQ to re-issue BPs at SIN?

We're flying out of MEL on Saturday morning on 218, connecting in SIN to 308 to LHR, both in J.
From past experience and what I've heard/read, the BPs handed out at MEL are just plain old white stock BPs (such as this), whereas we'd of course prefer the blue-ribboned ones (such as this). At SIN, I'm assuming they'll only be able to "re-issue" the BP for 308, as we would've already completed the 218 flight by then.
I don't mind getting an "all-white" BP for Y or Y+ but getting the same for J or F or R is quite a disappointment to be honest...

Yes it is easy MN - just go to the desk at entrance to SKL in T3 and tell them a little fib that you or your wife lost your boarding passes and you want to get both sets reprinted as you want to keep them as souvenirs - I have done it several times at F check in so I could get the maroon and gold versions

Edit: MN I have been thinking king about this o/n and I might have slightly misled you - YES I have done this on numerous occasions at F check in after o/n in SIN - it’s a no brainer there - in J lounge I have def done this once if not twice - I am not 100% sure if Lounge Staff printed replacement BPs at their desk or if they got them printed out at A Transfer desk and I went back and collected them later - a simple ‘I lost my BPs’ at entry will get you to Service Desk

Supp Edit: If you checkin online you can generate a BP then and save as a PDF to print - it’s not like the real McCoy card BP but at least it is in colour

I have had a number of seriously disappointing meals in both R and F last couple months - I have sent a number of somewhat scathing emails to SAA Feedback outlining my thoughts regarding this - however am very happy to report the superb quality of offerings on 238 MEL-SIN Dec 15 in F (albeit that the Comptes really is seriously disappointing compared to Krug) - menu first:

Cover of F menu seriously lacklustre with no colour.

Jeez just ZERO chance I was even going to look at the 'Refreshment' offering - every course was just fantastic - YES I did BTC for main course.

Positive feedback already sent to SAA Feedback

Long story but it was a mixed class booking - 238 on F MEL-SIN and 830 SIN-PVG in J next morn. YES I was able to secure access to TPR for bfast on the Mon morn dep SIN in J 18hrs after I arr into SIN in F - this can be done without too much difficulty.

Again offerings in J whilst a big step down from F in terms of number of courses and bev offerings it was still seriously good - the menu:

Bit of colour makes a huge diff huh:

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but the lack of Krug in F disturbs me
Brings me to tears and almost as bad is Perrier-Jouet in J instead of CH - double heart breaker.

But just make sure you all don't just come complaining here - express your displeasure to IFM whilst on-board and follow up with feedback to saa_feedback@singaporeair.com.sg - they will act if they get sufficient feedback - re-installation of dep board in TPR was a classic example of this.

Why would you get banned for expressing a personal opinion?

Crew often told me was amazing how many males would choose Krug and females Dom - no doubt Comptes will be preferred by some over Krug - but not me
