Just did a dummy rewards booking on SQ. Looking to go from Syd into Europe so chose to fly into AMS. As I am looking to go soon I managed to find some flights (seems to be on the 777). But the surcharges came in at $1100. Is this about right? I have never redeemed with sq before.

So, for a return J trip, it seems a little too much (I'm assuming J rtn).

Sounds correct if that's what the website displayed along with the number of miles.

That's one of the limitations of the KF redemptions. The heavy taxes devalue the miles and mean that the best redemption value is had in the premium cabins.

Last time I did an over calc of the cost of me earning the miles plus taxes I was still way ahead of the other programs that I had access to with the flexibility I need.
