I understand that the taxes on redemption bookings vary from airport to airport.

Does anyone in the AFF community know the order from least to most expensive of the European destinations that SQ flies direct?

Would a list like that exist?

LHR would be one of the most expensive.

I agree that it unlikely that anyone would maintain such a list, anywhere but LHR is about the best I can do too.

So LHR is probably most expensive. I recall CDG was pretty steep ($421 in 2012), and i'm sure someone told me Zurich was fairly economical (Might have been Geneva though which SQ doesn't fly direct).

Looking at Munich. If your interested, Ill post it once I have a figure.

DUB and MXP would be my bets for lowest taxes.

I made a list last year when booking for my parents and yes London was most expensive. Copenhagen was very reasonable. I will see if I can find it and post it

From memory, UK (LHR,MAN) > Germany (MUC, FRA) > France (CDG) >>> the rest (CPH, AMS, MXP, FCO, BCN, IST, ZRH, ATH). Have no idea about DME!

Here is a list of some destination taxes I made in 2014, these were calculated as part of an adult ticket from BNE.

Moscow = 158.70
Barcelona = 168.00
Copenhagen = 168.50
Rome = 188.60
Frankfurt = 259.00
Paris = 276.70
London = 590.10

As well as the airport taxes, there are Carrier Surcharges of 735.20

A couple more comments: The taxes are levied on departure, so there shouldn't be any difference on where you fly into, only on where you fly out of (so an itinerary where you fly into LHR and out of ZRH should have the same taxes as simply going into and out of ZRH). Also at LHR business/first class taxes are substantially higher than imposed on economy travel (and I think likewise in Germany and Paris).

Mark3000's quoted taxes I assume are for business class and include Australian airport and government charges (which make up a big chunk of those with lower charges).

Did I miss something in original or subsequent posts? Was OP seeking info on fees in F, J or Y? From Australian Airports or from European Airports back to Oz?

That's great, surcharges are less now though!

Here's a list of the majority of the major EU airports in order of cheapest to most expensive to depart from internationally to a long haul destination (eg. NYC or further). The below list does NOT take into account any taxes applicable when transiting via another airport.

The below list is applicable for F/J long haul only. Y will have lower taxes departing from some airports, eg. LHR.

DUB OSL HEL ARN BCN PRG CPH MXP MAD AMS BRU FCO ZRH ATH VIE DUS TXL NCE FRA CDG LHR

Thanks for all the input.

My trip ended up being SIN>MUC One Way J on SQ redemption ticket. SQ Fuel & Insurance Surcharge for this is $391. Passenger Service Charges $89

I take the point that taxes are levied on departures. Apologies if I confused with the way I posed the question.
