Question to all the FF's out there. Heading to Singapore shortly flying J class and transiting to a Silk Air flight Y class. Currently hold VA Plat & Gold Status (partner & myself) and know that you're not able to access the SQ lounge in Singapore if you're 'travelling' on a Silk Air flight (even if it has an SQ number). However, just wondering if SQ allow access to their Silver Kris lounge for J arrivals into Singapore or whether it's just for the departing flights. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, as an aside, what is the general expectation for those guesting others into lounges. Generally when we travel, we use the lounges to chill out and relax (and tend not to try to engage in too much conversation - even between ourselves lol). So my question is - I certainly don't mind guesting, but is there an expectation that we will sit and chat?? Thanks!

dont think you get arrivals at SIN, worth a shot though.

in terms of guesting - i would take it as it comes, if they want to sit and chat fine otherwise politely excuse yourselves once they're inside...

According to the Ts & Cs (and the lounge dragons are ferocious in adhering to these rules - in true Singaporean style), you will not be able to access the silver kris lounge on arrival. Access if only for departures and you will be assessed on your ticket class on the silk air flight. As Y pax on the silk air flight, you will not have silver kris lounge access - in any event, I assume you are likely to arrive in T3 and depart from T2.

However, as a *A gold, you will have access to the *A gold lounge in T3.

I'm not sure who told you that you cannot use an SQ lounge if flying silk air - that is not correct. All silk air flights allow lounge access if you have the necessary status or ticket class.

I cannot recall the admission rules for the J lounge in T2, as I get access as a PPS, but I think you can get access as a *A gold.

cheers

the way i read it they have VA Plat and Gold which wont give them access as Star Golds...

yes, but in T3 that only gives access to the *A gold lounge - not the Silver Kris lounge, which is limited to J pax and SQ PPS members.

In T2, there is no Silver Kris lounge (it's unique to Changi T3), so *A gold rules should apply.

cheers

They don't have Star Gold though:confused:

oops - my bad:oops:.

misread that. Not sure what the VA status equates to, but if not to a *A gold level, then the OP will not have SQ lounge access.

Thanks DTM1 & yohy?! - appreciate the prompt replies. Doesn't sound likely that we will get access to the SQ lounge - wishful thinking (on my part) that coming in to Singapore via SQ J class might provide some flexibility with access to the SQ lounge (on arrival) even though transiting to a Y class Silk Air flight. Unfortunately our Virgin Australia (VA) status doesn't allow access to the SQ lounge when taking a Silk Air flight (I'm hoping this will come at some stage down the track though - especially as a lot of our travel is in Asia and the Silk Air routes work well for us). Thanks again! :D
