Hi guys,
SIA can get a bad wrap, especially from awards customers as I know they have previously focused on customer yield.
I have to say, I have just got back from a 10/10 experience traveling on F-class redemption bookings to Europe.

1: MEL > SIN > LHR (All 777 refitted - First)
2: BER > MUC (Luhftansa - Business)
3: MUC > SIN > SYD (All 777 refitted - First)

Note I am only SQ ES, but I did have a paid return SYD>SIN>ZUR in R-Class A380 in December.

Flights were booked in all SAVER classes just 2 days before departure, I was blown away by this. This includes the Luhftansa segment.

There were maximum 3 people in F at any one time, with minimum 3 crew. Used Book the Cook on all sectors except MUC>SIN as not much was offered. Food was best I have experienced on SIA (better than R-Class).

In Melbourne they didn't give me a TPR Invitation, however when I arrived at Singapore the lovely lady offered to take me to TPR for my 2 hour layover.

Traveling home from MUC, at the airport they gave me an invitation to TPR for my 2 hour layover in SIN.

On all SIA legs, the service was flawless. Better than my experience in R-Class in December. The planes were cleaner (my suite leaving Sydney was pretty dirty in December), crew lovely and everything was just perfect.

So I have to say, I am confused regarding the difference between the Silverkris First Lounge and TPR access. They must be giving all long haul First and Suites customers access these days, regardless of whether it's a paid or redemption ticket. Any insights?

To anyone who hasn't actually flown SIA in a while and worries that the A380 vs 777 experience may be as different as the QF A380 vs 747 experience... the re-fitted 777 product stacks up and is almost as good as the A380, if not better in some areas. The only issue is as SIA adds more A380 exclusive routes (e.g. SIN>LHR as of June) we'll find it harder to get F redemption seats!

I have NEVER paid for SQ F but have had 4 x F Saver redemptions last 2 mths - IME simple way to access TPR is to bowl into F lounge like you own the place - tell the SQ staff you encounter along way that they are most gorgeous / handsome staff you have ever seen in this lounge - keep walking straight ahead - flash your F BP but don't stop or hesitate like you are looking / waiting for invite into TPR - just bowl straight in - I have never been challenged.

All SQ first class passengers can access TPR. First class passengers with other star alliance airlines ( ie non-SQ) can only use the first class lounge at Changi.

SIN-LHR will be temporarily an A380 exclusive route until they add an extra daily service, on a 77W, in Sept/Oct.

This has been the case for some time. TPR used to only be for revenue PAX however nearly 2 years ago was when it changed.

FWIW I first accessed TPR in September 2010 on an award ticket.

Thanks everyone here for the posts. I did not know TPR existed even though I have flown first with SIA through Changi before.
Thanks Alanslegal for your trip report back in 2009 where Googling TPR Singapore Airlines took me straight to the original trip report.
I have just checked in at Dubai with SWMBO on first saver award bookings. Nothing offerred after going through the usual formalities Asked at check in for passes to TPR and checkin (contractor) consulted supervisor who certainly confirmed that we would have access. A bit of scrummaging around in the drawers to find the appropriate paperwork.
Ahh the power of AFF.
also FWIW the first class lounge SIA uses in DXB is a bit of a dump. Smoking room upstairs that permeates throughout the whole lounge and you won't find DOM or Krug in here. I hope the refitted 777-300 gives a good experience even though I was told at checkin that first is full tonight.

You won't find Dom or KRUG in TPR either... just a heads up! :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes in TPR now. A very nice shower got the senses back on track. Just about to board MEL flight for a top up.
Lounge ladies certainly very responsive once the invitation handed over.

Recently I passed through DXB and used the J lounge. It had a wonderfully stocked bar. Lounge was nicer than outside. Wifi was slow (from memory.)

The TPR is for all SQ F and R class customers (revenue or redemption). However as Cruiser Elite mentions, pax numbers are kept to a minimum, so some pax may only be granted admission to the F lounge during peak times. Remember that the F lounge is still quite nice.

The F Lounge is essentially the Solitaire, LPPS and some partner first class lounge.

In my [limited] experience, it has never been 'crowded' in either lounge.

reading this thread am I mistaken that you can get an R award saver ticket on Singapaore A388?

I thought it was not possible
