Hi,

I am asking this for a friend.

My friend has just flown SQ and MI on MEL-SIN-HYD on the 17th of May and HYD-SIN-MEL on the 1 of June, He booked these through the Singapore Airlines site is it possible for him to get Velocity points for these flights?

He also has just booked a trip to USA flying Air New Zealand MEL-AKL-SFO-EWR return, can he get points for that if it was booked through Flight Centre?

If the answer is no what would be the best option for him?

Thanks, Ben

What points ( if any) will depend on the booking class. The cheaper SQ and NZ fares do not normally earn for Velocity

MI ( Silk Air) will not earn at all

If looking to get miles from past flights carefully the check if your (new?) freq flyer program (ffp) will accept past flights. Some do (subject to date restrictions) and some do not. Some may not accept a flight made before the date you joined the ffp even if normally they accept flights x days ago.

Only a few ffp have family pooling of miles/points.
Also look carefully at the miles/points expiry rules.
