After spending many years flying at the back of the bus on the cheap tickets, soon-to-be MrsGaffa and I both ticked over to SG recently.
We've got an in-laws trip over Christmas MEL-SYD-HVB, and I was just doing the seat allocation for the flight up. We got assigned 3A and 3B on both legs, which is lovely as both of us are over 6' tall, but a question for those that fly with partners.
Am I better off changing our seat alloc to 3A and 3C, hope we get a shadow in 3B, or leave it a the original 3A-3B? For years we would fly together, and always end up in a three row with someone else (often the only row on the plane with 3 pax in it). The SYD-HVB leg is usually an E190, but it appears that it's christmas so it's changed to a 737. Seat allocation looked pretty empty, but it's the first time I've been able to get further than row 8.
Any thoughts on the best strategy to maximise the chances of a row to ourselves?
