Bumping an old thread to save starting a new one... does anyone know if the miles calculation for VA redemptions is based on point to point or the whole route? I'm looking to book ACC-JNB-CPT so do they look at the straight line ACC-CPT or include the JNB distance? If the former, Velocity is the answer, latter it's better value with Aeroplan.

It’s based on the total distance of all flown segments.

There aren’t many ‘region based’ award charts out there anymore… LM is one.
