I was going through and activating the offers on the app, 10SC which I do not need. Next we "get Paid 10 points per $1". I wonder if this is on top of the WP earn rate which is essentially 10 points per $1 spent.

According to the Terms and Conditions:
"A bonus of 5 Points per $1 spent will apply on eligible Domestic, Trans-Tasman and International Short Haul flights. Bonus Points will be applied to the base Points only. Any applicable tier bonus earned will not attract Bonus Points as a result of this offer."

Anyone else bumped up a tier?

My plan was hubby would make WP Dec 18th - but logged in this morning and new review date is Oct 10 and hes now WP (he was 36 SCs short). Even with the 10 + 10 family pooling SCs, he was well short of WP earn until Dec.

WTF, VA, I had a plan
 
So basically it’s double points plus associated tier bonus earn.

I’d not be expecting many points from the app offer either. Probaly 500-1000 tops

I logged in to the Velocity app and get this screen. I click the "Get Paid" link and it took me to activate my offers.

Wow, a separate app. Who would have guessed. And what exactly does this separate app do other than act as a whole bunch of marketing hoopla. VA's wonderful IT work experience crew on duty again.

Off topic but is anyone else having issues loading their bookings on the Velocity app?
 
For those who are having issues like me, I found out what it was.

USING THE WRONG APP!

Apparently there is a separate Velocity Frequent Flyer app called Velocity, not Virgin Australia.
Download that one and you fill find it under "OFFERS"

Had the exact same issue. Was looking into the wrong app all this time. Downloaded the latest Velocity app and I'm all set now. Thanks :)
 
The Velocity app is pretty much useless apart from these kinds of competitions. I don’t know why they have two apps. They could invest in a single kickass app that actually works!

If they add their two buggy apps together and concentrated on one then perhaps it would be better!

Honestly, what rubbish marketing - they don't even call out which app the offer is in.
 
Given the email is from Velocity, not Virgin, and they talk about downloading the Velocity App... it's kinda obvious. Not to mention anytime you want to look at your VFF account it's always a Velocity website, not VA.

But agree, a single app (and single website connectivity) would be far easier. I'm sure there's a boffin somewhere that feels there needs to be separate Apps because of separate "names" (and probably to justify their existence).

Maybe if they're able to finalise taking back full ownership of Velocity they'll bring it all in house. One can hope.
