Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

so I've received 1 formal quote so far for my commerical property.
~7m warehouse ceiling

1. 18kW worth of (530-555W ea) Canada Solar panels
2a. Sungrow 15kW inverter SG15RT
2b. optional sungrow hybrid inverter, incase i want to add a battery next FY

Sungrow is coming out with a compact wall mount EV charger, later this year they said
so everything will be sungrow and everything can stay DC to keep electrical efficiency up (rather than converting DC to AC and back to DC etc)

2a. $17.3k ex GST
2b. $20.5k ex GST

waiting for 2 more quotes

thoughts on above please?
NOW The 18kW solar system sounds worth comparing with the other quotes, especially for a commercial warehouse. I’d be looking closely at the expected daytime electricity usage, roof space, shading, and whether adding a battery or EV charger next financial year is a realistic plan.

One thing I’d check is whether choosing the hybrid inverter now is worth the extra $3,200 ex GST. If you’re unlikely to install a battery soon, it would be good to compare the cost of upgrading later against paying for the hybrid option upfront.

Also, keeping everything within the Sungrow ecosystem sounds convenient, but I’d confirm which components actually operate on DC and whether the proposed EV charger can integrate with the system as expected.

Has anyone installed a similar commercial solar setup with Sungrow, and was paying extra for a hybrid inverter upfront worthwhile when adding a battery later ON?

The Federal small scale renewable energy scheme is open to businesses who install up to 1000kWh of solar and up to 100kWh of battery.
The value of batteries will depend on afternoon and evening energy consumption. As Commercial buildings are generally daytime "business hr" operations, a battery may not be ncecessary . YMMV
