I got the status match in August last year and I never had much chance to fly Virgin since then earning only about 160 SCs with them. Will I get a soft drop to Silver or lose status entirely?

As no one has had their comp'd status for 12 months, it's impossible to say.

I guess we'll find out in August (I re-qualified for my DJ Platinum so I won't be finding out)

Ill keep everyone posted. I am thinking of pooling the entire family's SCs (should just reach gold) however I am not sure if I can pool SCs that have already been earnt or only SCs going forward from the time pooling is set up? Can't get online as the velocity log in is down until Monday!

SCs can't be pooled retrospectively - otherwise you could conceivably accrue 1000 SCs in an account, qualify for platinum, then "pool" those SCs to someone else and make them platinum with no additional flying.
