OK, perhaps way o/t ;)

I've been a bad son and forgot to post something to my parents in PER before they fly out on Monday afternoon to Europe for a month.

I know Aus Post used to have before midday delivery via express post platinum, but after a call to them they said that the guarantee is now 'before 5pm'

Does anyone here know of any courier places that will do a one-off delivery from MEL to PER that won't charge the earth to do this? It's only a small envelope/satchel that I need to ship (mobile phone + charger), and I totally forgot to ship it yesterday when our office courier could have guaranteed delivery today.

Can anyone help me become a good son again? ;)

I know AAE also have the next flight option which I've yet to use. Supposedly a Friday afternoon pickup and Saturday delivery is a 'reduced rate'. Might be what you're after.

Australian Air Express - Next Flight

Edit: This is of course AFF, do you need any SC? I'm sure a couple JASA's could fix your situation ;)

All I can suggest is Australian Air Express - they have a 'next flight' option, which should be able to do it, but I can't guarantee they won't charge the earth. I used it a few years to get a projector from Sydney to Melbourne and it cost about $200 - delivered within about 3 hours though which was impressive.

Alas I'm in SYD on Sunday for the Thirlmere rail trip, and i'm flying out at 6am. That, and I don't feel like burning points (I've already got an insane amount of flying coming up in the next 2 weeks as it is, so a day more on the ground is probably a good thing!)

Have seen ANZ use this once to get me a credit card. Was very impressive service.

Alas that's 'after 1pm' next business day:( AAE said I have to use 'next flight' to get it there sooner, they have no 'before 12' guarantee options apart from that.

Looks like the good son is going to have to be tarnished in his parents eyes this time.

Or, i'm going to have to post said phone to Europe. That'll be even more expensive :S

Failing this, Anyone heading to PER over the w/end? Able to drop off a phone to Applecross area for me? There's a carton of beer (or equivalent value) in it for you ;)
