Are there any places to sleep airside in BKK airport? I have a painful 8 hour transfer (11pm-7am) and would like to find somewhere to doze off for a while. I'm arriving and departing on *A, so the TG lounges are an option (but they close from 2-5.30am). Anyone here know of any places (airside) to sleep in BKK?
Cheers.

This might help

Looks like they are about $60 for 6 Hours. Book through Louis Tavern

Suvarnabhumi Airport

Louis' Tavern Dayrooms at Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel Bangkok

11. SERVICES FOR TRANSIT I TRANSFER PASSENGERS
Day rooms are available for passengers on the 2nd and 4th floor of Terminal 1 & 2 at reasonable rates for six hours with soft drinks, Tel: 535-3710-24. Additional services in the Transit Lounge are Business Conference Room, Games Room, Left Baggage, Duty Free Shop, Nursery, Barber Shop, Beauty Salon, Sauna, Massage, Drugstore, Florists, Photo Fast and Currency Exchange.

Day rooms or the airport transit hotel are options, though you will cough up decent coin for them.

Apart from that, sleeping on benches is always the cheapest option. I tend to go to the farthest gates on any pier. Don't be surprised to see many do the same, and of course secure your valuables.

In BKK I take the Novotel just outside the terminal. It does mean you have to go through passport control but you can at least have a few hours of good sleep...

Thanks for the suggestions! I might suck it up and do what anat0l suggested and find one of the benches at the end of the piers and then come 5.30, hit the *G lounge and get one of the slumberette rooms there!

If the pier ends are noisy or full the lower level of the long transit between the east and west sides of the airport (concourse D) is fairly quiet and has benches on offer...

Do some research on departing flights at those hours, there are plenty of quiet gates at that hour of the morning.

Better than benches, they have massive reclinable leather seats, like J Class. I saw a few people crashed out on these when l did a 7am departure from BKK last year.

I used Louis Tavern option last year for 6 hours (11:30pm to 8am transit).

Booked from 12:30am thru 6:30am .

They rang me at 6:10 to ensure I was aware my time was nearly up.

Light breakfast included - could partake after leaving room.

"Fully Equipped" room down to bathrobes and slippers.

One issue was I could hear numerous announcements for some nearby flight departing around 2am.

Follow up question:
Does anyone know if there is a fax machine or scanner in ANY of the Royal Silk Lounges in BKK? The lounge guide said that they had a fax machine here in KUL TG Lounge, but apparently they don't have one ... urgently need one.
Cheers.

Sleeping in BKK airport would be a breeze for me. I would definitely take anat0l's advice.

I recently spent ~4 hours waiting in TPE airport overnight. It was not as bad as I expected and I managed to sleep for a couple of hours on the chairs sitting upright and more than likely slouched forward.

Sounds good JohnK, I'll see how tonight goes. The TG lounges all close at 1 and re-open at 5/5.30 so hopefully those 4 hours shouldn't be too bad!
And don't worry about the fax/scanner question. The Premium Plaza lounge opposite the KUL TG lounge scanned my documents for 10 Ringgit!
