Hi Guys,

Anyone have suggestions for a good sleep strategy when flying to Johannesburg, we are on the 10.35 departure QF63 tomorrow which then lands into JNB at 1535 South African Time.

I guess this is the equivalent to midnight Sydney time and are attending a 2 day conference on Thurs/Fri so wanting to try and time things out sleepwise so that we are at 100% for the Thursday and Friday.

Any tips from someone who has done this before or does this trip regularly? Have just got the nice text message saying our upgrade to business is approved too which should help a lot!!!

Thanks in advance!

normally what you do when travelling in this direction (East to West) is to try to stay awake until the destination bed time kicks in. You will be tired and will sleep well and the next morning you will be on the destination time. It has worked for me many times (Australia to Europe which would be similar time zones) without fail

Cool thanks for the suggestion, I'll try and stay awake as much as possible to the evening in SA
