I recently did a few flights on Alitalia - and a little more European travel coming up.

It seems a shame to see the points/miles/status credits/whatever go to waste - though I don't expect I'll earn enough to make it worthwhile in the short term. (Just banking points, and possibly earning Elite at the best - unless there's some kind of Family Pooling deal going around.)

So far, all of my flights have been in Y.

Are there any current Status Matches going around? (VA WP / QF SG)
Are there any SkyTeam programs that have particularly good perks? (Miles that don't expire, family pooling, other benefits I might not have thought of)

Don't know about status matches, but Delta's miles don't expire, however as a new member you can only claim retro credit for flights taken 30 days before joining.
