I have a 2 day lay over in Singapore in October and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good (and not too expensive) hotel. I prefer the boutique hotels over the large ones and I've been looking at "The New Majestic" and "The Scarlet".

All info much appreciated.

The Scarlet is interesting and well i think it is nice, but it will not be to everybody tastes.
The Gallery at Robertson Quay (Walk just up the river a little to Clark Quay, entertainment central !), its modern inductial type design, free internet !
The rest i have expereince with first hand are all commercial, The Novotel @ Clark Quay and the Holiday-Inn Parkview are 2 of them i like commercial.

Most of these all run to about $150-$200 a night though, Depends on your days, if its a weekend you can often get cheap (like $120-130 a night) in 5 star. (Note i make the assumption if i can book these prices on my on-line booking for corperate rates that anybody booking in advance should have half a chance at similar rates)
