Yes, but try it the other way. I think you'll find that SQ flys directly CBR-SIN, without touching SYD. It's a circular route, SIN-SYD-CBR-SIN. How do I know? I've booked it.

So per the OP not direct as it returns via Sydney? Outbound direct, return is not.
