Hey Guys,

This is a tough one.

Will be transitting SIN overnight on the 15th of Feb, flying MEL-SIN on JQ, then SIN-HKT on 3k the following morning (Same ticket, will already have BP)

As QF SG, lounge access rules state that onward flight that day must be on Jetstar etc. etc.

For WP and above, it only says next onward flight.

Do you think i will be granted access even though my connecting flight doesn't depart on the same day (up to lounge closure of 11pm)

Thanks,
Will

highly doubt it - id book in at the ambassador transit hotel for some shut eye personally

So if you are flying on Jetstar Asia (3K) you don't have access in this lounge? I have QP lounge passes and was hoping to use them before a 3K flight

From the rules + Jetstar refers to Jetstar Airlines (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K), Jetstar Japan (GK) and Jetstar Pacific (BL).

EDIT - I have now read to original post again and now realise its for initial access right after arrival.

you do have access to the lounge if it is open before your flight on the day of departure - the OP is arriving on 1 day and departing on the next day

most 3K flights departing SIN leave in the AM when the QP is conveniently closed

Ouch my flight leaves at 11am - no QP access for me

There's no harm in trying. We did that once a few years ago (slept overnight at the airport Crowne Plaza) and were allowed in with just a reminder of the lounge closing time and a smile. We were just QP members with PS status then.

As WP, I was granted access in the same circumstances (arrived on QF with onwards flight the next morning), up to lounge closure time. I left before then however.

So you should be, access is for any JQ or 3K flight. The key issue here is, is the lounge actually open? If not then answer is no, if yes then yes.

No it's not.

The key issue is: Can you access the lounge the day (or evening) before your next flight?

Can you give an example of where a Qantas gold or above travelling on JQ or 3k cannot access the lounge in Singapore? Only one I can see is lounge is closed. Other than that where you have cone from/going is irrelevant. (Unless things changed in last 3 months)

Me.

I've been knocked back a couple of times.

But more recently it's been OK.

On the Singapore lounge section of the QFF website it indicates distinction between WP's and everyone else, and that is timing of onward flight. Whilst the lounge staff may let people through for morning departure, rules indicate they do not need to unless WP:

WP:
Next onward flight must be on a Qantas^, Emirates^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight.#

SG, QP:
Next onward flight that day must be on a Qantas^, Emirates^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight.#

Interpretations.

Lounge staff don't don't always interpret the rules the same.

And even the published distinction is fairly recent.

I am confused what the op is trying to do. Are they trying to gain access to the lounge after the arrival of their flight from Aus? Then leave when it closes and wait around for the am 3K flight?

They want to access the lounge on arrival for a while. Freshen up, eat and drink something then go to their hotel for the night. Exactly what I've wanted to do many times. Especially when using the transit hotel - it can work well.

Even, in the past, I recall I had a connecting 00:10 flight departure, the SIN lounge staff knocked me back because it was "next day". Really. That's changed now for WP but might still be a problem for others.

Interpretations.
