It's a long time since I've posted here so I hope I'm in the appropriate section! (Please advise a more appropriate section if I'm not; thanks).

I'm wanting to go to Simferopol to ride the world's longest trolleybus route (to Yalta). I would also like to go to Sevastopol.

No firm plans but something on my bucket list. I did a quick search and a suggestion was Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong thence Aeroflot to Simferopol via Moscow.

Part of the world I've never been to and I do appreciate the recent political changes. Trust it's still feasible for a mature age (60s Australian couple) to visit.

So I'd appreciate some thoughts on my plans. My general style is to use local public transport for sightseeing and getting around.

I would recommend having a look at the smart traveller website to see if it is safe to travel: Ukraine | Travel advice | Smartraveller: The Australian Government's travel advisory and consular assistance service
