Hi,

I intended to take this flight in Sept but having read some reviews I'm not sure its a good plan as some are shockers.....

Looking for some genuine feedback on Vietnam Airlines please....?

TIA

Cheers

Pagan

Are you looking at flying in economy or business class?

I flew Vietnam Airlines from MEL to SGN and back, as well as on a few domestic flights within Vietnam a few years ago. They were absolutely fine. The plane was reasonably comfortable, service and food was good. Flights ran on time. I would fly them again.

I've flown from Siem Reap to Hanoi economy and Hanoi to Bangkok business. Economy was fine, I had an exit row, and meal edible. All on time and no issues. I flew business after being successful on OptionTown for about $50. It was like a local short haul domestic service. Fly again anytime.

I've flown with them domestically in Vietnam and Short-haul international to Hong Kong and Singapore, in business, and never had a problem. On time, new/newish aircraft, good service. If there is a downside, VN Airlines is a member of Skyteam so it is harder to find a use for any FF miles earned if you are trying to gain status for use on airlines flying in or out of Australia.

The flights from Australia to Ho Chi Minh City are available on a QF code. ;)

We took 4 domestic flights on the ATR 72 which were trouble free. We will fly with them again in October.

I've done J and Y around Asia. It's basic but fine. We're just spoilt here in Australia as our airlines are way better than the average elsewhere.

Ditto. I have also flown them intra asia in Y back in 2012 and thought it was fine. Service pretty reasonable. Food okay.

I flew them Y BNE-SGN-BNE in 2010 and 2011. They were fine. Just not sure about J. Can't even find it on seatguru today.
