Short connection in Brisbane...help!

Hi all.
I have done a search for an answer but couldn't find anything.
I have a QF flight from Melbourne to Tokyo Narita via Brisbane on 15 February.
I am booked to travel from MEL to BNE at 6.40am, arriving in BNE at 7.50am.
I then have a connecting flight to Tokyo Narita from the international terminal which departs at 9.25am.
This flight has been changed a few times now by Qantas and the most recent one I discovered today doesn't allow much time between connections now.
Originaly I was booked on the 6.10am out of Melbourne but now the earliest flight from MEL-BNE is the 6.40am.
I'm a little concerned that I won't have enough to time to connect to the international terminal in Brisbane and get through security etc especially if the flight is delayed.
I'm travelling in J on an award booking.
Any help or reassurances or alternatives would be hugely appreciated.

Are there still seats on the direct flight QF79 MEL-NRT you can request QF to rebook on?
 
If you have not accepted the change call QF and ask what other options are available e.g. MEL-NRT or MEL-SYD-HND. Also ask what is available +/- 1 day, as it seems like this is involuntary change QF should be able to provide options. Take the best that works for you.
 
May be too late now, but I would have gone for the JL flight MEL-NRT, departing MEL at 12.05am, daily, in Business Suites.

Alternatively, according to EF, QF79 MEL-NRT, A330, departing at 9.20am on 16th, has 2 x U seats available, if this is of any use. Nothing else on QF MEL-NRT direct +/- 3 days that I can see. But you would need to move quickly.

Edit: Change by phoning the QF Call Centre.

If you cannot change to the direct MEL-NRT flight, why not change your Mel-BNE to the evening before - of course you would need to pay for a hotel in BNE but it would make the whole experience less stressful - who wants to be biting their fingernails that a late MEL-BNE flight would cause you to miss your connection.

When I booked the award flights the direct service was not available
 
QF twitter said minimum connection time is 75 minutes and I have 95 minutes so they won’t do anything.
Might call then as suggested

It is indeed 75 minutes, see full list below from E/F. Default is 90 minutes.

Just an update.
I phoned QF and got the direct Melbourne to Narita flight in J the following day.
I needed 5000 points for the change but I only had about 3500, so I asked my sister to transfer the remaining points and will 'pay' her back.
I also got a $25 refund for taxes which I didn't understand but wasn't complaining.
Satisfactory result even if it means a day less in Japan.

Great result. You always need to move quickly when U seats show as being available. They are usually snapped up pretty fast.

Edit: Taxes recalculated from MEL-BNE-NRT to MEL-NRT direct.
