Shopping in SIN: Mikimoto

We are off to SIN at the end of the week. We return a few days before MIL's 70th. A SIL has suggested we should all chip in to get a strand of Mikimoto pearls for MIL for her bday (we didn't manage to do that when we travlled to Japan just before her 60th; she had a strand of Mikimoto pearls that were stolen on her honeymoon 47yrs ago).

What are our purchasing options for Mikimoto pearls in SIN? Are prices decent, at least compared to Australia? Should I look down town/Orchard Rd or focus on the airport at departure??

(it's two weeks left til MIL's bday, so BNE or SIN are our only options for ths purchase)
