Sheraton Stockholm
Tegelbacken 6

Rather centrally located, this property is in between the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and the high end shopping districts and trendy nightclubs to the north of the hotel. It was quite possible to walk to most attractions due to the v central location. The Central Terminus, the transportation hub of the city containing the city terminal of the Arlanda Express, the subway system, and the coach station is simply around the block from the hotel - thus rendering the property truly in the middle of "everything."

I was upgraded to a rather large Junior Suite, which isn't really a suite per se but a massive room with living and dining areas. The decor is v contemporary and sleek in a rather clean line Scandinavian sort of way. Comfy king bed, though rather oddly I had 2 single bed sized duvets rather 1 king bed sized ones. The bathroom was quite cramped in contrast with combined bath/shower. In addition to the "Shine by Bliss" soaps I had Molton Brown bath amenities.

Free internet was provided both in the lobby and in the club lounge. You can either connect your own laptop to the wired internet or use the many mac terminals - for the latter usage is capped at 1 hour per guest at peak times.

I could either have breakfast in the lounge or at the inhouse resto. Breakfast in the lounge is rather limited and uninteresting though there's hot food. My room rate also included free brekky at the downstairs restaurant, though I wasn't aware of this until the 2nd day - pays to check my rate plan more carefully in future. The buffet style restaurant breakfast had a wide range of options which modify slightly every morning including typical Swedish items such as pickled herring, and other familiar comforts like eggs (done any way), sausages etc.

Service here was rather efficient and staff members were efficient and courteous. There's no dedicated concierge desk apart from a table with tourist brochures but both the front desk and executive lounge staff were able to provide concierge services such as restaurant recommendations, bookings, and bars and nightlife recommendations rather competently.

I was v happy with the great location, comfortable room and the high standard of service rendered, and overall would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone visiting Stockholm.

Loving the TR mate particularly those pics from the 380. I noticed you mentioned the 2 double duvets on the king. I have travelled a bit in eurpoe and some of the hotels often do a similar thing. I asked when in Austria back in March and the hotel manager informed that they then didn't need to provide twin rooms, and that it saved laundry beacuse few people actually used the other half of the bed. Its a weird thing i know and I have seen it on numerous occasions

I like them (double duvets) for another reason. I'm a wriggler, I toss and turn at night, even when I've slept well. I'm also much warmer than my partner. So she likes to be fully covered up to the eys balls while I usually have my legs hanging out. (although not last night as it was about minus 6 and snowing). With the separate duvet you don't disrupt your partner and they don't disrupt you.

We don't have them at home, but it might be an idea.

I use the Shine soap all the time. Hyatt Place use it, and I have a very substantial collection. W Hotels in New York have been putting a Bliss Thermal Shaving Cream in as well. It heats up when dispensed, it's amazing. I went out and bought it.

My partner said the same thing when he saw my TR yesterday. He gets warm whilst I get cold easily.

It's not sold in Bliss Spas is it? I also like the Shine shampoo. I asked the girls at Bliss Spa W Hong Kong but they knew nothing about the Shine range.

Never seen it in a shop at all, I think it's perhaps trade use only.
